3HK Roaming eSIM Guide

If you’re traveling through multiple countries within a region, you can easily stay connected using the 3HK DIY Prepaid eSIM without needing to switch SIM cards in each country.

Purchasing the eSIM

  1. Visit the 3HK Website: Go to the 3HK DIY Prepaid SIM page.
  2. Go to Popular Countries & Destinations and view the options. The “APAC” plan will cover Australia, Australia – Tasmania, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Mainland China, Guam, Guam – Saipan, Guam – Tinian Island, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Woah.
  3. Buy Online: Follow the purchase steps, making sure to enter the correct email where you’ll receive the eSIM QR code for activation.

Install the eSIM

  1. Receive the QR Code: After purchase, 3HK will email you the QR code for your eSIM.
  2. Install on Your Device: Open your phone’s settings:
  • Go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan (iOS).
  • For Android, it varies by device but typically is under Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Add Carrier.
  • Scan the QR code provided by 3HK.
  1. Confirm Activation: Once scanned, your phone will prompt you to confirm the installation of the eSIM. The new data plan will appear in your settings.

Enable Roaming and Select the eSIM

  1. Turn on Roaming: Make sure data roaming is enabled in your phone’s settings.
  2. Choose eSIM for Data: Set the eSIM as the active data plan for mobile data. Your primary SIM can still be used for calls and texts if needed, but all your mobile data will come from the 3HK eSIM.

Start Using Data Across Countries

  1. Automatic Roaming: As you travel between Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, the eSIM will automatically connect to partner networks in each country, ensuring a seamless experience without the need to manually switch SIM cards or settings.
  2. Monitor Data Usage: You can check your data usage by visiting the 3HK account portal or through your phone’s settings.

Recharging Your Plan

  1. Check Validity: Depending on the plan you purchased, your eSIM may be valid for a specific duration or a set data limit (e.g., 7 days or 3GB). Keep track of this.
  2. Recharge if Needed: If you need additional data, you can recharge the eSIM through the 3HK portal, keeping the same eSIM active.
